UFC officials have confirmed that the second women’s bout in MMA history will take place in April at the TUF 17 Finale in Las Vegas. Former Strikeforce women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate will make her UFC debut against Cat Zingano according to UFC officials.
The event will take place in Las Vegas from “The Joint” at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.
Tate (13-3) hasn’t fought since submitting Jule Kedzie in August. It was her first fight back in the cage since losing her Strikeforce title to Ronda Rousey.
Zingano (7-0) will be making her UFC debut as well. She was last in action at the Invicta FC 3 event where she submitted Raquel Pennington via rear naked choke. Zingano has notable wins over Takayo Hashi and Carina Damm.
The UFC also announced a heavyweight bout for the TUF 17 event which will feature Gabriel Gonzaga taking on Travis Browne.
