The UFC on FUEL TV 9 card will feature a new main event due to the unfortunate cut sustained by Swedish light heavyweight Alexander Gustafsson. He was due to take on former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Gegard Mousasi. However, Mousasi will now be facing another Swedish fighter in Llir Latifi who comes into this bout as a huge betting underdog.
We reported earlier today that UFC light heavyweight Alexander Gustafsson was not cleared to fight in the UFC on FUEL TV 9 main event due to sustaining a cut near his eye in training recently. However, UFC officials have officially announced his replacement to fight Gegard Mousasi in the new main event.
The Swedish MMA Federation has announced that Alexander Gustafsson will not been cleared to fight at Saturday’s UFC on FUEL TV 9 event due to a facial cut. Gustafsson was set to take on Strikeforce import Gegard Mousasi in a fight that could have likely determined the next UFC light heavyweight title challenger.
UFC officials have announced another fight for the UFC on FUEL TV 9 card when featherweights Akira Corassani and Robbie Peralta lock horns inside the octagon.
