California Xtreme Fighting (“CXF”) returns on Thursday, October 30, 2008 with the kick off of its new Thursday Night Fight Series. CXF will hold its third professional Mixed Martial Arts Card at a new venue, the El Monte Expo Center and Guanatos Bar in El Monte, CA.

This new venue will allow CXF to bring its exciting MMA cards to a larger audience in a bigger and better venue for fighting. Each month, CXF will bring fight fans a different style of fighting, including MMA, Boxing, and Muay Thai/Kickboxing, making CXF the only full scale fighting organization of its kind in the state of California.

In November, CXF is proud to feature the return of former EliteXC Lightweight Champion Karl “KJ” Noons to the boxing ring in a six (6) round 155 lb fight against Ontario’s Alex Bogarin. Noons will also be appearing at the October 30, 2008 MMA card as a special guest.

Meet Sergey and Vitalius Shemetov; two brothers from Siberia with more combat credentials than General George Patton.  The Shemetov brothers have spent many years training and paying their dues in their homeland and around Europe and now have decided to set their sights upon America.

They have seen another couple of Russian brothers venture into the U.S. and gain the respect and attention of fans and media alike and they too have similar aspirations.

Growing up and being trained in combat Sambo, the brothers began expanding their repertoire with muay thai, kickboxing, and boxing and competing in events such as Kumite, Pancrase, K-1,  DRAKA, and much more.  Here’s an abbreviated list of the accomplishments of the brothers Shemetov:

X1: Temple of Boom 2 hits Hawaii on Oct. 25

The X1 World Events – Temple Of Boom 2 is set to take place Saturday, October 25, 2008 at the Palolo Hongwanji Temple. The card will feature 4 Pro MMA bouts, 3 Pro boxing matches and 10 amateur MMA bouts.

The 135 lb title fight is a rematch for the two fighters, with Mike Pedro winning the first contest via 1st round armbar. Undefeated 145 lb up-and-comer Brandon Visher will look to push his record to 5-0 against game opponent Reuben Del Rosario. Colin Mackenzie will square off against Isaiah Cobb-Adams with both fighters searching for their first victories. Rounding out the PRO MMA bouts will Be Gene Gregory and Brysen Hansen.
