Bellator’s Doug Marshall suspended by Pennsylvania commission following failed test for banned substance

The news coming out of Pennsylvania is yet another blow to Bellator Season 8 middleweight tournament winner Doug Marshall. Not only did he lose to Alexander Schlemenko and break his hand but now he has been suspended following a test for an undisclosed banned substance.

Doug “Rhino”Marshall made an impressive run through the Bellator Season 8 middleweight tournament and capped things off with a victory over Brett Cooper. Injury forced him out of his championship matchup with current title holder Alexander Shlemenko that was set for Bellator 98. Today Bellator announced that fight will now happen at Bellator 108 on November 15th in Atlantic City.

Bellator 93’s welterweight tournament finals delayed as Douglas Lima suffers broken hand

Due to a broken hand suffered in training, Douglas Lima (24-6) will no longer be fighting at Bellator 93 on March 23 in the finals of Bellator’s Season 8 Welterweight Tournament. Lima was set to face fellow finalist Ben Saunders (16-5-2) for the $100,000 grand prize and a shot at the 170-pound title currently held by Ben Askren.
