MMA veteran Mirko Cro Cop will make his UFC return on Saturday when he rematches Gabriel Gonzaga in the main event of the UFC Krakow event. The two first fought at UFC 70 with Gonzaga knocking out Cro Cop with a head kick that was reminiscent of all of the head kick knockouts Cro Cop had scored in his legendary career. The win derailed the UFC’s plans for Cro Cop to challenge then champion Randy Couture for the UFC heavyweight title. Gonzaga was given the opportunity to face Couture and was stopped via third round TKO. You can watch the epic head kick KO below:

This will be Cro Cop’s first UFC fight since 2011 when he got knocked out by Roy Nelson at UFC 137. Gonzaga is coming off back-to-back losses, including a first round TKO loss against Matt Mitrione in his last outing.

  1. I like Cro Cop and he’s in great shape for his age but he still should consider retiring.

  2. It’s gotten beyond the “consider” stage. He should be retired by now. Too many KO’s.

  3. Yes, and its not just the damage already done! Its that these older guys, no matter how skilled, just don’t have the quick reaction time (fast twitch muscle fibers) to effectively compete against the younger guys! Unfortunately, it often takes one or more devastating and traumatic losses to finally convince them that their run is over!
