Cat ZinganoRemember Cat Zingano? She was originally slated to coach opposite Ronda Rousey on The Ultimate Fighter 18 and then fight her for the title at the conclusion of the season. But she got injured and Miesha Tate stepped in to fill the spot.

Now following knee surgery and the death of her husband/coach, Zingano is all healed up and ready to return to action — except it won’t be against Rousey. Instead, the number one ranked UFC women’s bantamweight will face number eight ranked Amanda Nunes.

Zingano and Nunes will square off on the UFC 178 undercard on Sept. 27th in Las Vegas, Nev. The card is headlined with a light heavyweight title rematch between Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson.

Zingano (8-0) remains undefeated in her career with eight straight wins; four by knockout, three by submission (one decision). She last fought in April 2013, when she made a successful Octagon debut by defeating Miesha Tate via third round TKO at the TUF 17 Finale.

Nunes (9-3) is 2-0 in UFC competition, defeating Sheila Gaff via TKO at UFC 163 in Aug. 2013, and most recently, stopping Germaine de Randamie via TKO at UFC Fight for the Troops 3 last November.
