[ads1]Kurt-PellegrinoThirty-four-year-old mixed martial arts veteran Kurt Pellegrino (16-7) will come out of retirement to face Saul “The Spider” Almeida (12-4) inside the Bellator MMA cage on Friday, Nov. 15, LIVE on Spike TV from Revel in Atlantic City.

Following a five-year stint in the UFC in which he went 7-5, Pellegrino last fought at Bellator 59 in Nov. 2011, dropping a first round TKO to Patricky “Pitbull” Freire. Following the bout Pellegrino announced his retirement from MMA. However, the New Jersey BJJ black belt’s desire to go out on top has drawn him back into the cage.

“I’ve been in retirement for the last two years, but I’ve been in the gym every day since and the competitive fire has still been burning inside of me,” Pellegrino said. “Every morning I wake up I realize I had the same dream as the night before, and it’s to go out the way I want. With Bellator back in Atlantic City, this is my opportunity to end my nightmare and go out the way I want, the way I deserve.”

The 24-year-old Almeida is 1-1 inside the Bellator MMA cage. Following a five-fight win streak in 2011-2012, Almeida returns to action having lost his last three fights via decision. He last fought in February, dropping a decision to Rob Font at CES MMA’s “Undisputed 2”.

The Nov. 15 Bellator MMA event will also feature Ricardo Almeida disciple Tom DeBlass in his return to the Bellator cage, and will also include the Bellator MMA Season 9 Tournament Finals in the Welterweight and Featherweight divisions.
