The much anticipated UFC welterweight title fight between champion Robbie Lawler and challenger Carlos Condit had to be postponed due to a thumb injury suffered by Lawler a couple of weeks ago. The fight was set to take place at UFC 193 in November, but now has been moved to headline the UFC 195 PPV that’s set to take place on January 2nd in Las Vegas.

Lawler (26-10, 1 NC) is riding a four fight winning streak in his career resurgence and will be looking to defend his UFC title for the second time since defeating Rory MacDonald at UFC 189. Lawler has gone (7-1) in his return tot he UFC since 2013 with the lone loss coming against Johny Hendricks, whom he has since defeated.

Condit (30-8) is coming off a TKO win over former title challenger Thiago Alves in his first fight since suffering a knee injury in 2014. Condit is a former interim champion who is always in exciting fights, and this fight will certainly not be an exception.
