A pretty solid night of fights at the TUF 19 Finale, well until the end. Frankie Edgar came into the fight a huge favorite but who would have guessed that BJ Penn would have absolutely no offense. He looked more active in his walkout than he did in the fight.
Frankie Edgar took Penn down at will and toyed with him by jumping in and out of his guard. The second round wasn’t even close as Edgar dominated from start to finish. The third round brought the ground and pound from Edgar. He used devastating elbows to put away Edgar and win the fight.
When asked about his fighting future, BJ Penn says
“I shouldn’t have came back. I shouldn’t have been in the ring tonight. … Dana said it was over. I’ve got to agree with him at this point.”
Hats off to a very crisp looking Frankie Edgar. He took this one almost with ease en route to notching his third win over “The Prodigy”
