UFC officials have announced a slew of fights for upcoming fights cards in the very near future. A lightweight battle between Joe Lauzon and Michael Chiesa has been verbally agreed upon. The event will take place on September 5 at Foxwoods in Connecticut.

Lauzon is coming off a unanimous decision win over Mac Danzig in his last outing. It was a must needed win after losing back-to-back fights and three of his last four. Chiesa is coming off a unanimous decision win over Francisco Trinaldo in his last outing, and has won back-to-back fights since suffering his lone career defeat against Jorge Masividal.

A top notch middleweight rematch fight between Gegard Mousasi and “Jacare” Souza has been verbally agreed upon for UFC 176 on August 2. The event will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and will be headlined by the UFC featherweight title fight rematch between Jose Aldo and Chad Mendes. Mouasasi defeated “Jacare” in 2008 via KO in the Japanese DREAM promotion. Both are coming off big wins in their last fights and will be looking to earn a potential title fight with a win here.

A light heavyweight scrap between Ryan Bader and Ovince St. Preux has been verbally agreed upon to headline the UFC Maine event on August 16. Both Bader and OSP are coming off wins in their respective bouts this past Saturday at UFC 174.
