UFC officials have confirmed another matchup for the upcoming UFC on FOX 12 event slated for July 26 in San Jose, California. Lightweight fighter’s Josh Thomson and Michael Johnson have verbally agreed to fight on the card.
Thomson (20-6, 1NC) is coming off a controversial split decision loss against then champion Ben Henderson in his last outing at UFC on FOX 10. Thomson broke his thumb in the fight and has been on the sidelines every since. He’s (3-3) in his last six fights, but all of the losses have been against stellar competition with very close decision losses.
Johnson (15-8) is coming off a unanimous decision win over Melvin Guillard in his last outing in March. Johnson has rattled off three consecutive wins 2013 after losing back-to-back fights in 2012.
