UFC officials have announced two more bouts for the upcoming UFC 164 event that’s slated for Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The event will take place on Saturday, August 31, 2013, at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.

A featherweight bout between Clay Guida (30-13) and Chad Mendes(14-1) has been verbally agreed upon. Also, a featherweight showdown between Erik Koch(13-2) and Dustin Poirier(13-3) will be on tap.

Guida is coming off a controversial split decision win over Hatsu Hioki in his featherweight debut at the UFC on FOX 6 event which took place in January. Guida had lost back-to-back fights as a lightweight prior to the drop down to featherweight.

Mendes is coming off a first round TKO win over Darren Elkins at the UFC on FOX 7 event which took place in April. Mendes has won three consecutive fights via KO/TKO since suffering his lone loss against UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo at UFC 142. Guida and Mendes were originally supposed to fight on the UFC on FOX 7 event, but Guida was forced to withdraw from the bout with an injury.

Koch is coming off a TKO loss against Ricardo Lamas at the UFC on FOX 6 event which took place in January. He was riding a four fight winning streak going into that fight and a potential title shot with a win.

Poirier is coming off a unanimous decision loss against Cub Swanson at the UFC on FUEL TV event that took place in February. Poirier was (2-1) in 2012 before suffering the loss to Swanson this year.

Brandon Vera will return to the heavyweight division to take on Ben Rothwell as well on this card. The main event as well as more fights will be announced for the event soon.
