Inside the Cage Radio was back on the ESPN 1450 airwaves in Reno on Tuesday as host Greg DeLong recapped this past weekend’s “UFC on Fuel TV 2” event in Sweden and brought the latest in MMA news.

Greg also talked with Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson (@wonderboymma), who is competing on Saturday’s UFC 145 card against Matt “The Immortal” Brown in Atlanta.

And Invicta Fighting Championships (www.invictafc.com) Co-Founder and President, Shannon Knapp (@shanknapp), called in to discuss the all- women’s MMA promotion and their debut event which takes place next weekend in Kansas City.

Thompson, who is a black belt in Japanese Jiu Jitsu, talked about the differences in Japanese and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He also discussed how he matches up with “The Immortal” and how he thinks the fight will play out. “Wonderboy” talked about his training for the fight and the various camps he worked with getting ready for Brown.

As the former number one ranked fighter in World Combat League, Thompson talked about meeting the organization’s founder Chuck Norris and Chuck training jiu jitsu under his brother-in-law, Carlos Machado. “Wonderboy” also revealed how he got his nickname.

Moving on to women’s mixed martial arts, Shannon Knapp came on to discuss the birth of Invicta Fighting Championships and why the women fighters needed a new home. Knapp also discussed how many shows a year they plan to do, the lack of depth in women’s MMA, how they plan to create more depth and why they chose Kansas City for their premiere.
