HOUSTON – The official fighter weigh-ins for “UFC 136: Edgar vs. Maynard III” took place Friday at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, the same location that will host Saturday’s fight card featuring UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar vs. Gray Maynard in the main event.
Also on the card in the co-main event is a featherweight title fight between 145-pound champ Jose Aldo vs. no. 1 contender Kenny Florian. Fight fans can watch a replay of the UFC 136 weigh-ins on ProMMAnow.com’s UFC Live Streams page later today.
All fighters made weight, although Tiequan Zhang and Brian Stann had to strip down behind a towel.
Maynard is ready for another shot at the title after fighting to a draw with Edgar back in January. After the weigh-ins today Maynard said, “All the preparation is done, let’s have some fun. … I’m gonna get that title.” Edgar responded, “I’m ready to do this. Too long thinking about this kid. I’m all about the anti-bully movement.”
