NEW ORLEANS – “UFC Fight Night 25: Shields vs. Ellenberger“ takes place this evening at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, La. ProMMAnow.com (www.prommanow.com) will provide LIVE results and play-by-play commentary during the fights.

Headlining the card is a welterweight match-up between grappling ace and former Strikeforce middleweight champ Jake Shields and heavy-handed rising 170 pound prospect Jake Ellenberger.

The action kicks off Saturday night LIVE on Facebook (www.facebook.com/ufc) with the prelims starting at 5:30 p.m. ET / 3:30 p.m. PT and the main card airing LIVE on Spike at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT.

UFC Fight Night 25 play-by-play:

T.J. Waldburger vs. Mike Stumpf

Round 1 – Waldburger takes Stumpf’s back right after throwing a kick. Stumpf tries to get up but Waldburger controls well, gets both hooks in and flattens him out momentarily. Stumpf defending well, but Waldburger transitions to an armbar attempt. Stumpf gets free and to his feet. They remain clinched and Waldburger puts Stumpf on his back. Waldburger inside Stumpf’s half guard, tries to mount. Stumpf is up and out. Waldburger puts him back down. Stumpf has his neck but Waldburger is free, goes for an armbar, they roll, Waldburger switches to a triangle and Stumpf taps out. That was some slick grappling from Mr. Waldburger for his second UFC victory.

Seth Baczynski vs. Clay Harvison

Round 1 – Leg kick from Harvison. Then a loud inside leg kick from Harvison. Again. Left hook from Baczynski partially blocked. He then lands an inside leg kick and a body shot and a knee to the body. They clinch, Baczynski leaning on Harvison against the cage; grabs a collar tie and lands some knees, and a flying knee. Another collar tie and knee from Baczynski. Harvison seems to have slowed. Clinched against the cage; elbow from Baczynski. Leg kick from Harvison. Right hand from Baczynski. Knee from Harvison. Baczynski drops levels, lets it go. Jab from Baczynski, front kick, clinch and exchange knees.  10-9 Baczynski.

Round 2 – Leg kick from Harvison. Leg kick from Baczynski, again. Big uppercut from Baczynski drops Harvison and Baczynski mounts him, postures up over him and lands some nice punches. Harvison gives up his back, rolls over, eats elbows and punches, gives up his back again and Baczynski locks in the rear naked choke with hooks in and Harvison taps out.

Ken Stone vs. Donny Walker

Round 1 – Stone with an inside leg kick, again. Walker connects with a punch and clinches up, but Stone presses him against the cage and muscles him to the ground, lands on top in half guard. Stone puts some elbows to the body. Walker gets to his knees and feet. Stone has a body lock, drags Walker down and takes his back with both hooks in. He locks in the choke quickly but Walker tries to fight it off. He rolls to his stomach and Stone switches to palm-to-palm and Walker goes to sleep without tapping. Ref pulls Stone off.

Evan Dunham vs. Shamar Bailey

Round 1 – Dunham connects with a one two. Leg kick from Bailey. One two from Dunham. Again. Leg kick Bailey. One two from Dunham. Right jab from Bailey and Dunham lands a nice right. Dunham stuffs a takedown attempt. Dunham lands a one two. Left hand from Bailey. Body shot from Bailey, leg kick. Again. One two from Dunham. Again. Again. Bailey lands a nice left. Dunham lands a head kick, straight left, again with a one two from Dunham. Bailey gets a leg, gets a quick takedown but Dunham pops up and catches a flying knee and dumps Bailey on his back after the bell. Dunham 10-9.

Round 2 – Right hand from Bailey, then a nice left. Brief scramble on the ground before getting back to their feet. One two from Dunham scores. Dunham ties Bailey up and Bailey backs out. Body kick from Dunham. Leg kick from Bailey. Front kick to the face from Dunham, lands a nice one two, again. Again. Big one two from Dunham. Again. Dunham is picking him apart over and over with the one two but Bailey just eats them. Right hook from Bailey. Front kick to the face from Dunham. Bailey shoots, stuffed. Looks tired. One two from Dunham, again. Jab from Dunham. Big one two. Body kick from Bailey, leg kick. One minute to go. Bailey shoots, stuffed. He eats several punches. One two from Dunham. Again. Again. Again. Again. Again. Body kick from Bailey. One two from Dunham again, just eating Bailey up. 10-9 Dunham.

Round 3 – Bailey connects with a couple punches but Dunham connects in return. Bailey coming out aggressive hunting. He blocks a  head kick. Right jab and a one two from Dunham. Another one two. Again. Dunham is beating him to the punch over and over. Leg kick from Bailey. Right hand from Dunham. One two. Uppercut from Dunham connects. Leg kick from Dunham, body shot and a right. One two punch from Dunham. Right hand. Left hand from Bailey. One two from Dunham. Right hand from Dunham. Leg kick. Leg kick from Bailey. One two from Dunham, again. Two head kicks blocked by Bailey. Dunham pours it on with combo after combo, chasing Bailey down. Bailey still standing firm though. Bailey loses his mouthpiece and ref calls a halt to get it back in. They go back to banging. Bailey catches a  knee and Dunham puts him in a standing guillotine until time runs out. Great heart shown by Bailey. Dunham 10-8 and 30-26 for the fight as I see it.

Cody McKenzie vs. Vagner Rocha

Round 1 – Leg kick from Rocha. McKenzie stalking with punches, lands a head kick. He draws a line in the sand with his toe. Tells Rocha to come on. They clinch against the cage, shoulder shots from Cody. Knee from Cody, he looks for the neck but Rocha backs out and kicks Cody in the groin. Body kick from Rocha blocked, again. McKenzie with a right hand. Nice right hook from Cody. Rocha gets a takedown and Cody has his neck. Rocha pops his head out and puts some body shots on Cody. Cody with butterfly guard as Rocha moves to half guard. Rocha goes for a kimura but Cody fights it off, scramble to the feet but Rocha still has it and they roll. He takes Cody’s back and locks in a choke but Cody escapes. Scramble and Cody ends up on top and Rocha gets to his feet. Cody lands a big right. Knee from Rocha. Rocha runs away and gets tagged with a right just before the bell. McKenzie 10-9.

Round 2 – Chants of  “Cody”. Rocha tags him with a punch. Cody lands a right and Rocha shoots, gets the takedown. Rocha in half guard looking for a kimura. Rocha locks on a D’arce very very deep. Cody escapes and rolls and ends up on bottom with butterfly guard. Rocha gets to half guard. Cody locks on a guillotine briefly. Some great grappling going on here. Rocha gets full mount. Throws some punches but Cody scrambles, gets his feet on the cage. Gives up his back and Rocha goes for the choke and Cody taps out. Nice fight and good win for Rocha.

Alan Belcher vs. Jason MacDonald

Round 1 – Ben Askren in Belcher’s corner. Chandella lookin luscious. MacDonald shoots, stuffed. Belcher ties him up against the cage. Knee from MacDonald, more knees to the thighs. Belcher tries to back out but MacDonald holds his wrist, grabs a single, looking for a double. Belcher giving him some small punches. MacDonald ends up on his back with Belcher inside his full guard. Belcher postures up with an elbow. Right hand from Belcher. Nice right, right right left and elbow from Belcher. He stands over MacDonald and lands more shots. MacDonald looked hurt for a minute there. MacDonald looks for a kimura but Belcher moves to side control, lands a right, stands over MacDonald and lands a big left, elbow, more elbows as MacDonald covers up. Belcher finishes him off with punches.

Erik Koch vs. Jonathan Brookins

Round 1 – Koch looking tan and serious. Leg kick from Koch. Brookins shoots for a single, lands a right hand as he fights for the takedown. Now looking for a double but Koch defends it well. Knee to the face from Koch, barely lands if at all. Nice elbow from Brookins in the clinch. Knee to the body from Brookins. Elbow from Koch. Knee from Koch. Knee from Koch to the face. Brookins pressing on Koch, big elbow, another one. Koch backs out lands a one two, big leg kick. Lands a one two counter as Brookins comes in. Leg kick from Koch and a one two. Brookins gets the clinch, drops levels for a single. Koch defends and gives him some hammerfists to think about. Elbow from Brookins. Koch turns him around and Brookins turns him back around. They go to the ground right after the bell. Close close round. I guess I will score the round for Brookins 10-9 for the control.

Round 2 – Leg kick from Brookins, Koch gives him one back, a real one. Again. Two left hands. Brookins shoots and puts Koch against the cage. Koch escapes the clinch, throws a head kick and a one two. Jab to the chin. Leg kick, one two. Nice one two from Koch. Brookins shoots, grabs a single. Koch defending well. Brookins tries to drag him down but ends up on his back. Brookins gets right up and keeps the pressure on being relentless for the takedown. Koch turns Brookins around to the cage, lands a knee.  Koch backs out misses a big punch. Leg kick from Koch. One two leg kick from Koch. Brookins shoots and muscles Koch to the ground. Brookins on top but Koch gets up. Brookins immediately shoots for that single again and eats some shots for his trouble. Brookins 10-9.

Round 3 – One two from Koch. Brookins with a knee. Leg kick from Koch. Brookins shoots and Koch backs out. Nice right right from Koch. Boos from the crowd. Leg kick from Koch. Brookins shoots and they go all the way across the cage. Koch defends but Brookins still has him tied up. Koch tries to back out and eats an elbow. Brookins leaning on him to the boos of the crowd. Koch backs out and they square up. Big leg kick from Koch. Koch ties him up almost gets Brookins down but he bounces right up. Boos. Brookins lands a nice left and goes right back for the single. It wasn’t pretty but Brookins got it. 10-9, 30-27 for Brookins as I see it.

In a surprising judges’ decision, they give it to Koch. Wow. That’s a change from what we usually see. Normally the kind of pressure and control Brookins showed would have won the fight. Koch did do more damage though. Brookins controlled more of the action but did very little damage.

Dongi Yang vs. Court McGee

Round 1 – Leg kick from McGee. Body shot from Yang. Nice counter left and a leg kick from Yang. Nice reflexes from Yang, he’s fast. Inside leg kick from Yang. Nice right from McGee wobbles Yang. Inside leg kick from Yang. Right jab, hook from Yang and a leg kick. Leg kick from McGee. Yang stumbles to the ground but is back up and they exchange punches. McGee pressuring. Leg kick inside from Yang. Right from McGee who should have the round 10-9.

Round 2 – Yang counters with a combo. Yang checks a leg kick. McGee presses Yang to the cage. Yang stands firm. McGee backs out. Yang counters with a combo. Nice leg fake punch from McGee. One two punch from Yang. — Yang majored in martial arts in college — Nice left from Yang. Nice right. Court gets a body lock. Yang backs out. Inside leg kick from Yang. Boos from the crowd. Left hand from Yang as he slows down. Left hand counter from Yang. Head kick connects from McGee. Inside leg kick from McGee and he should have the round 10-9.

Round 3 – Right jab from Yang. He attempts a knee tap but no dice. Yang punches back. Yang shoots and is pushed off. Inside leg kick from McGee. Yang gives him one back. Boos from the crowd. Huge left hand from Yang rocks McGee badly and Yang rushes in with a flying knee. He picks up McGee for a slam. McGee defends and busts up his nose. Yang fires back with a head kick and stuns McGee again with a punch. McGee fires back and gets a body lock. McGee putting on the pressure and Yang looks exhausted as his eyes are almost swollen shut and is bleeding. Yang stuffs a takedown at about the 1:30 mark. McGee shoots and puts Yang on his back, gets full mount briefly, they scramble back to their feet. McGee lands a combo, body shot, left hook on the counter. McGee shoots, gets the takedown with 15 seconds left. Big elbows and locks on a guillotine but Yang is out just before the bell. Rogan says, “And Court McGee is still not breathing heavy.” McGee should have it 30-27.

Jake Shields vs. Jake Ellenberger

Round 1 – Shields throwing out a jab. Ellenberger throws Jake to the ground but he gets right up. Shields gets a body lock and Ellenberger shakes him off. Knee to the face from Ellenberger and Shields goes down. Ellenberger fires off several punches and Shields is done as the ref stops it. — When you think about what Shields has gone through this training camp and then for it to end like this is one thing said… but also understandable. It’s very said though. Shields sitting down now shaking his head. This is the first time Shields has been stopped. Shields said he wanted to keep fighting but the ref stopped it and there was nothing he could do.
