Frank Trigg and Jim Wallhead were the headliners for BAMMA 7.

BAMMA 7 took place Saturday, Sept. 10, at NIA Arena in Birmingham, England. The main event saw two judo black belts collide as UFC vet Frank Trigg and Team Rough House’s “Judo” Jim Wallhead went three full rounds.

In the first round, Wallhead rocked Trigg with punches, put him on his back and opened a cut under his eye with some vicious elbow strikes. In round two, both fighters relied primarily on their boxing and kept it standing.

Wallhead scored another takedown in round three, but Trigg was able to get back up quickly without taking any damage. The majority of the round was spent on the feet trading punches, and once again it was close. In the end the judges gave it to Wallhead via split decision.

Overall, Trigg looked to have the better boxing, landed better combos and used an effective jab. However, Wallhead landed the bigger shots, rocked Trigg a couple of times, and scored a couple of takedowns. You can watch the fight for yourself and see if you agree with the judges (video will be available shortly).

Although he failed to make weight again, Paul “Semtex” Daley out-struck  Jordan Radev for the majority of their 15-minute bout to take home a unanimous decision in the co-main event.
