UFC newcomer Erick Silva (12-1, 1 NC) will not be fighting Mike “Quick” Swick (14-4) on Aug. 27 as previously scheduled. UFC.com has the news:

“Mike Swick’s long-awaited comeback to the Octagon will have to wait a little longer after he was forced to withdraw from his UFC 134 bout against Erick Silva due to injury. A replacement opponent for the debuting Silva will be announced shortly.”

Swick has not fought since Feb. 2010 when he lost to Paulo Thiago via second round submission at UFC 109. And the fight before that he lost a unanimous decision to Dan Hardy at UFC 105 in Nov. 2009.

Swick was originally slated to return to action at UFC Fight Night 23 back in January, but after his opponent David Mitchell pulled out with a back injury, Swick also withdrew.

Stay tuned for the announcement of Swick’s replacement. The complete UFC 134 fight card line-up can be found on our Upcoming Events page.
