The British Association of MMA returns on May 21 at Wembley Arena in London. The promotion’s sixth card will feature a pair of UFC veterans, Phil Baroni and Frank Trigg.
MMAFighting has confirmed that both fighters have verbally agreed to compete on the card in separate matches.
Baroni picked up a much needed win over Nick Nolte last weekend at Titan FC 17. The victory snapped a three-fight losing streak that earned the fighter his release from the UFC. Over the course of his 11-year career, Baroni has picked up signature wins over Ikuhisa Minowa, Ryo Chonan and Dave Menne.
Trigg returned to the UFC after a four-year layoff. However, after dropping back-to-back knockout losses at the hands of Matt Serra and Josh Koscheck, the UFC released him. In his last fight, he got back on the winning track with first-round stoppage over Roy Neeman. During his first stint in the promotion, Trigg fought Matt Hughes for the welterweight title, but lost both times. He holds UFC victories over Dennis Hallman and Renato Verissimo.
In the main event of BAMMA 6 champion Tom “Kong” Watson will defend the BAMMA middleweight title against Pride FC veteran Murilo “Ninja” Rua.
