Fighting Entertainment Group has announced that Dream featherweight champion Hiroyuki Takaya will fight on Strikeforce’s upcoming April 9 show. According to FEG, he will take on Robert Peralta on the card.

The fight has not been officially announced by Strikeforce. Dream lightweight champion Shinya Aoki and contender Tatsuya Kawajiri are officially set to fight on the card. Rumors have persisted for the last few months that Takaya would join them.

Takaya claimed the featherweight strap with a unanimous decision victory over Bibiano Fernandes on New Year’s Eve. The “Streetfight Bancho” earned a shot at the title after winning back-to-back fights over former WEC bantamweight champion Chase Beebe and former Dream lightweight champion Joachim Hansen. Over the course of his career, he has also scored victories over Antonio Carvalho, Hideo Tokoro, Yoshiro Maeda and current SRC featherweight champion Hatsu Hioki.

Peralta is currently riding a six-fight winning streak that dates back to 2009. Despite being a veteran of 16 fights, the Team Kadillac fighter has only fought for two promotions, MMA Xtreme and Gladiator Challenge. Peralta is the only man to defeat current TPF flyweight champion Darrell Montague. He defeated Montague with a third-round TKO due to punches in 2009.

A pair of title fights headlines the April 9 card. Nick Diaz will defend his welterweight title against Paul Daley. In the lightweight division, champion Gilbert Melendez takes on Kawajiri.
