Jason High has reportedly fought his way back to the big show, signing a multi-fight deal to join Strikeforce’s welterweight division.

According to MMAJunkie, High’s management team — Triple Crown Fighter — confirmed High’s new Strikeforce contract.

In his last fight, High submitted Strikeforce veteran Rudy Bears with a first-round guillotine choke. The win was his fourth victory in a row since losing his only fight in the UFC to Charlie Brenneman. During that stretch, he also defeated Pride veteran Hayato Sakurai.

High earned a shot in the UFC by reaching the finals of Dream’s welterweight tournament. He defeated Deep champion Yuya Shirai and ADCC veteran Andre Galvao, but then in the title bout came up short against Marius Zaromskis.

Strikeforce welterweight champion Nick Diaz recently defended his title for a second time against Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos. Other welterweight contenders under the Strikeforce umbrella are Paul Daley, Tyron Woodley and Tarec Saffiedine.
