UFC President Dana White confirmed the signing of another Japanese MMA standout via Twitter, announcing that the promotion has signed Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto (18-3).

Yesterday, news broke that the UFC had signed another top Japanese MMA fighter: featherweight contender Michihiro Omigawa.

During his illustrious career, Yamamoto has picked up notable wins over the likes of Genki Sudo, Caol Uno, Jeff Curran, and DREAM featherweight champion Bibiano Fernandes.

Long considered one of the best smaller fighters in the world, Kid’s career has hit a rough patch. After nearly two years away from the sport, Kid returned to MMA at DREAM 9 against a then-relatively unknown Joe Warren (6-1). Warren, who surprised many by advancing to the finals of the DREAM featherweight grand prix, went on to become the Bellator 145-pound champion.

MMAWeekly.com is now reporting that Kid will face Demetrius Johnson in a bantamweight fight at UFC 126.
