ProMMAnow.com received a press release and invitation from the Ultimate Fighting Championship this afternoon (Tuesday, Oct. 26) regarding a special media conference call to be held this Thursday in which UFC President Dana White will make a major announcement.
That is literally the only description given about the conference call. Normally, the UFC conference calls revolve around a specific event, so for the UFC to summon the media for a nondescript meeting like this is very unusual.
If memory serves correct, the last time we were summoned to a “major announcement” it was the Abu Dhabi sale, and before that it was Lorenzo Fertitta taking over international affairs.
The only thing that pops in my head right away is that it may have something to do with the new television deal that we reported on Monday. However, you just never know when it comes to White. He has been hinting at some “mind-blowing” news for awhile now, so we shall see.
