Inside MMA has reported that The Ultimate Fighter 4 contender Scott “Hands of Steel” Smith will face UFC veteran Terry Martin at Strikeforce: Destruction.

The middleweight contest will be the new main event following lightweight champion Josh Thomson’s withdrawl due to injury.

Despite Duane “Bang” Ludwig stepping in as a late replacement for Thomson, Martin vs. Smith appears to be the bigger attraction in the eyes of Scott Coker and the rest of the Strikeforce promotion team.

Smith (13-5) last fought Robbie Lawler for the now defunct Elite XC middleweight title back in July.

Martin (18-5) fought Cory Delva at Strikforce at the Playboy Mansion back in September. Martin appeared to be behind on points but scored the knockout vitory in the third against Delva for the win.

The two UFC veterans posses heavy hands and prefer to stay on their feet so fans at the HP Pavillion in San Jose should anticipate a fist flying main event.
