Would Resurrection Fighting Alliance consider making a super heavyweight division and then just crowning me champion? I feel that is my best shot at making it to the UFC at this point. RFA champs such as Zach Makovsky, Sergio Pettis, Pedro Munhoz and Mike Rhodes have all gotten the call up. Let’s add Brian Ortega (8-0) to that list.

I’ve had the pleaseure to interview Ortega several times and he is an outstanding young man. He can get things done inside the cage but has a passion for humanity outside. He volunteers at hospitals, is raising a family and now he gets that dream opportunity of fighting in the big leagues.

Brian Ortega defeated Keoni Koch earlier this year in a back and forth battle at RFA 12 to win the 145 pound title. He will now go from the the top of the class to starting from the bottom again as he meets TUF 14 winner Diego Brandao in Brazil on May 31st.

Brandao was scheduled to fight Will Chope but Chope was cut from the roster after some  past trangressions were brought to light. He lost to Dustin Poirier after coming in overweight at UFC 168. That loss snapped a three fight winning streak.
