Bluegrass Brawl 3 to showcase area’s top talent tonight in Lexington, Ky.

Heritage Hall in Lexington, KY will play host to a spectacular night of mixed martial arts. Tommy Cornett brings the red, white and blue cage to showcase some of the Bluegrass State’s top fighters this Friday night for the fans.

Bragging rights and championship belts are on the line as five amateur titles will be decided as well as a professional middleweight champion crowned. Matchmaker Adam Gomez has put together a who’s who of talent with goals of building careers and promoting local fighters.

One of Kentucky’s youngest promotions, Bluegrass Brawl is looking to put a stamp on MMA in Lexington. To do that they have enlisted the help of top gyms such as 4 Seasons, Baddog MMA, Iron Cobra MMA in an effort to get as much attention to the fighters as they can. A family friendly atmosphere provides the fans the opportunity to watch not only some of the top level amateurs and professionals but the fast rising up and comers as well.

The main event will feature the final chapter in a trilogy of fights between Michael Cockerham and Justin Gamble. Cockerham knocked Gamble out in their first meeting several years ago but Gamble avenged the loss with an armbar victory in February. Gamble is riding a two fight winning streak and wants to put the rematches aside. Cockerham is coming off of a tough loss in Charleston, WV and wants nothing more to notch a victory in this rubber match. Added incentive will be the Bluegrass Brawl Middleweight Championship, the first for the promotion in this weight class.

Cody Bruce will make his professional debut against a familiar foe in Robert Bennett. Bruce was victorious in their first outing but both men are looking for that first professional win and paycheck.  Bruce has won his last five fights and will vacate two amateur titles to join the pro ranks. Bennett is on a two fight skid but looks to bounce back.
