The UFC’s partnership with FOX continues to thrive as Fox’s cable subscription channel FUEL TV broke record numbers for total viewers with UFC ON FUEL 2: Gustafsson vs. Silva. The second of six planned fight cards for FUEL TV gave the channel its most watched day to date.

Broadcasting live from Sweden; the original live airing of Gustafsson vs. Silva aired in the afternoon with a replay that aired later on that night. According to figures released by Nielsen Media Research UFC ON FUEL 2 brought in 326,000 viewers combined between the two airings of the event. 203,000 of those viewers were in the target demographic of males, aged 18–49.

The live airing of the event brought in the second highest views for a live telecast with 197,000 viewers, which is second only to UFC’s inaugural live fight card for Fuel which aired February 15th and brought in 217,000 viewers. Silva vs. Gustafsson did eclipse the first UFC on FUEL fight card in the target demographic (M 18-49) bringing in a network best 142,000 viewers watching the live airing.

FUEL TV has enjoyed their partnership with the UFC, seeing continual increases in quarterly ratings for total views and a spike in subscribers to the channel. They boast more hours of UFC coverage than any other network with 2000 hours of UFC Programming for 2012.

UFC ‘s next fight night to air live on FUEL TV will be May 15th, from the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Virginia. The event is entitled UFC ON FUEL  3, and will be headlined by The Korean Zombie taking on Dustin Poirier in a featherweight contenders bout. FUEL TV’s next live UFC content will be the live weigh in’s for UFC 145 Jones vs. Evans on April 20th at 4:00pm.
