The UFC has a busy month of January with three events taking place, but that’s not stopping them from filling out cards that are coming up in the near future. The UFC announced six new bouts that will take place on the UFC on FX 2 event that’s scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 3rd, in Sydney, Australia. The event will air on March 2nd in the U.S. due to the time difference. The six bouts can be found below:
- Anthony Perosh (12-6) vs. Nick Penner (11-1)
- Kyle Noke (19-5-1) vs. Jared Hamman (13-4)
- Jake Hecht (11-2) vs. TJ Waldberger (14-6)
- Steven Siler (19-9) vs. Cole Miller (18-5)
- Mackens Semerzier (6-3) vs. Robbie Peralta (15-3)
- Shawn Jordan (12-3) vs. Olie Thompson (9-2)
Perosh has won his last two bouts via rear naked choke after dropping a TKO loss to Mirko Cro Cop back at UFC 110. Penner will be making his UFC debut after fighting exclusively in Canada since 2007. Penner has won eight fights in a row since dropping a decision to Jimmy Ambriz in 2008. This will be a light heavyweight bout.
Noke is coming off a submission loss to Ed Herman back in August 2011. Noke had won three straight UFC bouts up until that point and will be looking to right the ship in his home country of Australia. Hamman is coming off a KO loss to Constantinos Philippou back at UFC 140. He’s 2-3 in his UFC career. This will be a middleweight bout.
Hecht is coming off a TKO win over Rich Attonito back at UFC 140 last month. He has won four straight fights since dropping a decision to rising prospect Che Mills back in 2010. Waldberger rebounded from a TKO loss to rising welterweight Johnny Hendricks to take out Mike Stumpf via submission back in September 2011.
Siler is coming off a unanimous decision win against Josh Clopton at the TUF 14 Finale after competing on the latest season of TUF. Siler has won five out of his last six fights with three submission wins to his credit. Miller is coming off a submission win over TJ O’Brien back in August 2011. Miller has three out of his last four fights and will be looking to take our Siler who defeated Miller’s brother to get into the house on the last season of The Ultimate Fighter.
Semerzier fought Peralta in his last bout which ended in a controversial no contest after initially being ruled a TKO loss. So this bout is a rematch to settle the score between the two after the initial meeting ended as a result of an accidental headbutt.
Jordan will be making his UFC debut after fighting in the Strikeforce promotion for his last two fights. Jordan was last in action in September 2011 where he submitted Lavar Johnson in the second round. Thompson will be making his UFC debut against Jordan after fighting primarily in England.
