Longtime MMA veteran Joe Riggs (34-11) has competed in just about every large U.S. promotion and today Bellator Fighting Championships announced that they have added Riggs to their middleweight roster.

“Bellator has a lot of well-rounded, talented guys in their middleweight division,” Riggs said in a press release. “Guys like Bryan Baker, Eric Schambari, and of course the Middleweight Champion, Hector Lombard. There are some really good middleweights for me to test myself against, and it was one of the reasons I came to Bellator.”

In stints with the UFC and Strikeforce, Riggs has picked up wins over the likes of Chris Lytle, Phil Baroni, Nick Diaz, and Joe Doerksen, and also faced Jay Hieron, Kazuo Misaki, Matt Hughes and Diego Sanchez.

Riggs was released from Strikeforce late last year, despite a 3-2 record with the promtion and coming off of a win over Strikeforce Challengers prospect Louis Taylor.
