Dan Lauzon

The Boston Herald has published an article on UFC fighter siblings Dan and Joe Lauzon parting ways. Basically, Joe Lauzon and Dan’s coaches gave him an ultimatum to start taking his training seriously or they were not going to corner him for his next fight, which is against Efrain Escudero at UFC 114 on May 29.

It is a form of “tough love” from Joe and the coaches, but Dan feels betrayed and vows to look for a new camp.

“I think I’m going to be pretty much looking for a new gym and new coaches to train with. People I can actually count on and rely on and not somebody that’s going to halfway through a camp say, ’Hey sorry, you’re going out there alone, good luck.’ ”

Joe just hopes this action will wake his brother up.

“We’ve always been there with him and we’ve always stuck by him, but he’s not helping himself. Hopefully this makes him turn it around and realize that he has to be professional about it and do the right thing.”
