“UFC Fight Night 19” goes down at the Cox Convention Center tonight in Oklahoma City, Okla. and airs live on Spike TV beginning at 7 p.m. CT. Headlining the card is a lightweight match-up between Nate Diaz and Melvin Guillard. Also on the televised main card will be Gray Maynard vs. Roger Huerta, Carlos Condit vs. Jake Ellenberger, and Nate Quarry vs. Tim Credeur. (MW) Nate Quarry vs. Tim Credeur
Round 1 – Front kick by Credeur. Left hand by Credeur. Right kick by Credeur. Right hand by Quarry. Left hand by Credeur. Right hand by Credeur. Big right connects by Quarry. Front push kick by Credeur. Right kick by Credeur. Credeur being more active. Quarry with a jab. Quarry with head movement trying to get inside. Credeur keeps throwing punches though holding Quarry back. Leg kick by Credeur. Leg kick by Quarry. Quarry eats a right. Credeur looks to be faster with his strikes as well. Big left hand lands for Quarry. Nice combo of punches by Credeur. 1:15 left in the round and Credeur drops Quarry with a big punch. Credeur takes his back with a rear-naked choke, Quarry escapes the choke and gets to his feet. Quarry has a cut on his face. Leg kick Quarry. Quarry just seems sluggish.
Round 2 – Credeur is attacking with big combos and Quarry is rocked but Quarry lands a big punch and drops Credeur to the mat. Quarry gets on top and is in Credeur’s guard.  Quarry with the ground and pound. All it takes is one shot for Quarry to change the pace of a fight. Quarry still trying to punish from the guard. Credeur looks for an armbar but not even close. Credeur still looking for submission opportunities.  Quarry still punishing with 1:45 left in the round. Credeur seems content to look for submissions and stay on the ground. 1:00 left.
Round 3 – Left jab by Credeur. Big combo by Credeur rocks Quarry but once again one big right by Quarry drops Credeur to the mat, flat on his back. Just like the last round. Quarry is so dangerous with that power. Credeur gets back to his feet. Quarry connects with a couple of shots. They are both connecting with big shots. Credeur is eating some big ones and lays down to his back Quarry follows him down and lays on the ground and pound. Credeur just had no energy left to stand. Credeur goes for a leg lock but no dice. Quarry is punishing Credeur with the ground and pound. 1:25 left in the match. Credeur staying active on the bottom and likewise for Quarry on top. These guys have energy! Must be using FOODFIGHT! The ref stands them up. Quarry connects with a big right. Credeur is firing away as the bell sounds. This is a close fight. Not sure how to call it. Quarry did more damage but Credeur landed more strikes. OFFICIAL RESULT: Nate Quarry defeats Tim Credeur by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-27, 29-28).

(WW) Carlos Condit vs. Jake Ellenberger
Condit desperately needs a win here. He came in as the WEC welterweight champ then lost his first fight in the UFC against Martin Kampmann. Condit needs to show he deserves to be here, and show those skills he became known for.
Round 1 – Condit gets hit with a big one and drops to his back. Jake follows him to the ground and is in Condit’s guard. Condit is defending well from the bottom.  Condit gets back to his feet but eats one on the way up. Condit is getting busted up bad. He eats quite a few big punches and goes down. Condit gets to his feet and lands a knee. Condit ducks down and turtles. Somehow Condit reverses and is now mounted on Jake. Jake gets out though and puts Condit in a guillotine. Condit rolls and gets out. This is an amazing fight. Condit has to be congratulated for his toughness. Condit is up and eats a huge head kick. He’s still in there though. Condit needs to start landing some shots. Condit throws a lazy spinning backfist not even close. Wow! Wow! Wow!
Round 2 – High kick over the head of Jake. Condit has a big height advantage. Ellenberger shoots and puts Condit on his back. Wrestling has always been Condit’s weakness. That’s why he went to ACS. It doesn’t look much better. Condit has Jake in his guard. Ellenberger pounding with strikes to the body still in the guard. 2:35 left in the round. Big elbow from Ellenberger. Condit gets up but is put right back down.  Ellenberger took this fight on short notice. Condit locks in a kimura but Ellenberger is out and has the mount. Condit turns and twists. Condit in Jake’s half guard but moves to mount. Ellenberger reverses and now in Condit’s guard. They both stand. Condit with the jab and a flying knee. I give both rounds to Ellenberger so far.
Round 3 – Florian gave the second round to Condit. Head kick lands by Condit. Quick takedown by Ellenberger. Jake in Condit’s guard. Huge elbow by Ellenberger connects to Condit’s head. They get up. Big head kick lands for Jake. Condit goes for the takedown and gets caught in a guillotine. Condit slips out. Condit is in the half guard. 2: 45 left. Elbows and punches by Condit. Condit trying to set up some kind of choke, elbows and punches connect. Ellenberger trying to get up. Repeated punches to the head by Condit. Condit is coming back strong. Tries to take the back of Ellenberger. Condit in full mount landing elbows. Ellenberger slips out of a submission armbar attempt and now is on top in Condit’s guard. He lets Condit up. Ellenberger shoots, Condit stuffs it and starts landing elbows. Condit on top of the turtled Ellenberger. Condit has full back mount flattened out. Big punches from Condit. Condit definitely won that round and finished strong. However, it’s going to depend on how they scored the first two rounds. Personally, I have Ellenberger winning two rounds to one. PRIDE rules Condit won it, but this isn’t PRIDE.  I have a feeling Condit will win it though. OFFICIAL RESULT:  Carlos Condit defeats Jake Ellenberger by split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28).

(LW) Gray Maynard vs. Roger Huerta
This could be Roger Huerta’s last fight ever in the UFC or maybe MMA in general. I’m not sure if anyone knows what “El Matador’s” plans are. Gray Maynard has the style that will be the hardest for Huerta to deal, most notably his wrestling. I think the UFC would like to send Roger away with a great big “L.”
Round 1 – Gray better not trade with Roger, that’s the only thing. Leg kick by Roger. They clinch then let go. Right hand by Gray. Roger swings but Gray moves. Gray connects with a punch. Big right hand rocks Huerta. Another one by Gray. Gray willing to stand with Huerta. Interesting. Gray moving away good win Roger strikes. Gray gets in strikes then gets out. Smart. Big right by Gray again. Huge left by Gray connects. Roger comes in swinging and catches Gray. Gray backing up and appears hurt. Gray fires back and connects. Roger connects again. Nice left by Gray. When Roger gets hit he gets mad and dangerous. Gray shoots in for the takedown. Roger stuffing it. Big knee by Gray. Roger withstood the takedown. Very impressive. Great round. I was wrong about Gray’s standup. He’s hanging right in there with Roger. I give that round to Gray 10-9.
Round 2 – Leg kick by Roger. Nice left by Gray. Leg kick by Roger. Again by Roger. Roger being more diverse with his strikes. Gray connects with a punch and knocks Roger off balance briefly. Leg kick by Roger. Right hand by Gray knocks Roger back. Roger comes in firing away. Big body shot by Gray. Nice left jab buckles Roger but he gets right up. Roger with a combo rushing in and connects iwth one. Right hand by Gray. Leg kick by Roger, followed by a right hand by Gray. Left hand by Gray as Roger comes in with a combo. Plum to knee strike by Gray. 1:00 left. Left hand by Gray. Leg kick by Roger. Right hand by Maynard. Left  hand and a right by Roger. Roger connects again with a couple of shots. Too close to call.
Round 3 – Short left hook to the chin of Roger Huerta. Left hand by Huerta lands. Huerta shoots picks up Roger and slams him on his back. Roger holds the fence and tries to stand. Gray has control and his on top as Roger is on his knees. Gray has Roger around the legs and puts him back down as he tries to get up. Gray’s nose is bloody. Roger rolls and Gray is in his half guard. Gray locks in a tight kimura. Very tight.  The tightest kimura I’ve ever seen and Roger does not tap. OMG. Roger survives it. Gray puts him back down. Roger’s arm has to be tweaked after that. Gray gets a body lock as Roger stands. Ten seconds left. Knee by Roger. They both lift their arms but Gray had to have won. OFFICIAL DECISION:  Gray Maynard defeats Roger Huerta by unanimous decision (28-29, 30-27, 30-27)

(LW) Nate Diaz vs. Melvin Guillard
Round 1 – Melvin drops Diaz with a big punch. He lets Diaz up. Diaz appears OK. Diaz throwing that lfeeling jab out. Leg kick by Diaz. Guillard with good head movement. Diaz with the takedown. He gets up and throws Diaz to his back. He lets Diaz up. Diaz asks him what’s up. Guillard says what’s up. Diaz gets the takedown. Guillard moves his back against the cage to get up. Guillard is back up. Diaz still has a clinch on him. They break free. Diaz face is bloodied up. Diaz throws some shots but Melvin eluding. Huge right hand by Guillard. Diaz says what’s up. Diaz swings for air. Left hand by Guillard. Guillard eluding. Guillard on his bicycle. Diaz wsith a leg kick. 30 seconds to go. Kick to the midsection by Guillard. Diaz goes for a standing kimura but Guillard rolls out of it. Guillard 10-9.
Round 2 – Diaz has a cut over his right eye. Kick to the body by Guillard. Guillard just keeps backing up as Diaz goes after him. Diaz locks him up. Knees to the body by Diaz. Guillard tosses Diaz to the ground and lets him up. Diaz lands a jab but Guillard ties him up. They let go. Big combo by Guillard rocks Diaz briefly. Diaz  lands a couple shots and plays rope a dope plays hurt. Guillard goes in for the takedown and Diaz locks up a modified guillotine choke. Kenny Florian said there is NO escape for that type of guillotine. Great win for Mr. Diaz. That is a HUGE win for the TUF winner. Beautiful. What can you say…BJJ lives in the heart of the Diaz brothers. OFFICIAL RESULT:  Nate Diaz defeats Melvin Guillard by submission (guillotine choke) Round 2 (2:13).

  2. Why Melvin Why? Just keep the fight standing and likely would have won. I know he’s good but I can’t stand Diaz.

  3. LOL actually i can’t even remember. Oh i know what it was. i got those guys mixed up for part of the round and thought it was Condit who got mounted in that round at that one point. So that kind of threw me off. probably affted my judgment. that round was close either way i thought.
