This is very important stuff because we are keeping score, and at the end of the year we will award the staff member with the highest correct percentage with a six pack of beer and a pizza, and the person with the worst record will be made fun of indefinitely. So, the stakes are high. The fights are tough, and here we go…

Rashad Evans (No. 4 LHW) vs. Thiago Silva (No. 8 LHW)

BRIAN FURBY: In spite of the fact I wish that one of the other 12 original main event match-ups were still going down, I’m looking forward to this fight. Both guys are quick strikers with good power and have solid all-around games. I think Silva packs more power, but I do think Rashad has a slight edge on speed and technicality while also being more elusive. I don’t think the fight is likely to hit the ground – both guys want an impressive victory to get another shot at Machida, and Rashad also has the added factor of still wanting a piece of Rampage. I think the first round will see a lot of range-testing and maybe some quick flurries where one or both guys look in danger, but in the end, I see Rashad finishing it about halfway through the second. Rashad by TKO in Round 2.

A portion of the ProMMA.info staff has come together to give their expert opinions and predictions on the main card. FEDOR EMELIANENKO vs. BRETT ROGERS

RICHARD MANN: I was thinking about taking Brett Rogers, but only because I did not want Ken Pavia to feel all alone. Rogers might impress a few people, but he is going to be submitted. The argument that no one has been able to take Rogers to the ground is mute. Fedor is Fedor for a reason, and he is going to win this one by submission.

UFC 97: REDEMPTION – PRO MMA staff picks

Once again the PRO MMA (promma.info) elders make their predictions. The event is UFC 97: REDEMPTION going down this Saturday night, April 18th in Montreal, Canada. The headliner is a UFC Middleweight Title fight between Champion Anderson Silva and Thales Leites.

Take a look at our predictions, see if you agree or disagree, and let us know why. Submit your picks as well.

Anderson Silva vs. Thales Leites
Denny Hodge: I don’t think Leites is going to be successful at getting the champ to the ground, to show us his world class ground game. Silva by TKO in Round 2.
Jeff Howard: Silva over Leites-I think Leites has a chance, if he can get Silva down. With that said, Leites’ chin is like glass and he will get crushed trying to take Anderson down.
Eddie Constantine: Silva by TKO RD2 – Silva should be able to overpower Leites, wearing him out as Thales attempts to take Anderson down tiring him out in the process.
Jack Bratcher: Silva wins in round one via (T)KO (strikes) because he can.

UFC 90: Silva vs. Cote – Kinohi’s picks

by:  Kinohi Abaro

Anderson “Spider” Silva (22-4) vs Patrick “Predator” Cote (13-4)
After beginning his career in the UFC 0-4, Cote has rebounded with 4 straight victories to earn his shot at MW King and consensus P4P #1, Anderson Silva. Underdog Patrick “Predator” Cote will look to test his granite chin against the sledge-hammer like fist, knees, and shins of the “Spider” Anderson Silva. Many fans and experts believe Cote doesn’t deserve a title shot, nor does he stand a chance. Anderson Silva does not share the same sentiment as fans, the humble Brazilian respects Patrick Cote and the skill set that he brings to the table and will not make the mistake of looking past his opponent.
