Round 5 UFC Series 1 now in Stock at Toys”R”Us in United States

JAKKS Pacific and Round 5 sign licensing agreement to share MMA talent for new UFC action figure lines

Malibu, CA – JAKKS Pacific, Inc. (Nasdaq: JAKK), leading U.S. toymaker and master toy licensee for Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), announced today a sub-licensing agreement with Mixed Marital Arts (MMA) collectibles company, Round 5, to share UFC and MMA talent, allowing both companies access to the biggest fighters in Mixed Martial Arts in order to manufacture, market and distribute action figures and related products under the Ultimate Fighting Championship brand.

Topps UFC Round 1- PRO MMA (promma.info) scores!

When I first heard of Topps teaming up with the UFC, I was excited. Being a huge MMA fan, and a former sports card addict, I had mixed feelings about my own participation in collecting these cards.

Needless to say, once the time was close, I contacted a local store in Nashville, Tennessee to the get the scoop. They were expecting them to hit by February 24th, so I waited for that day hoping I may get a chance to get a pack or two a day early, as they were to hit the shelves of hobby stores on the 25th.

I called, they were in, and the rest is history. They only had two boxes, and I handed my debit card over like a kid buying candy with his allowance. On the way back to work I kept wondering, will I get those tickets that are randomly inserted? Will the $200 I just dropped result in anything exciting?

UFC Trading Cards sneak peek at UFC 94

Topps Trading cards, the manufacturer of the soon to be released UFC Round 1 cards, has a treat in store for all in attendance for UFC 94, Penn vs. St. Pierre 2. Every fan at UFC 94 will receive a special sample pack containing exclusive versions of BJ Penn’s and GSP’s base (not an autograph or special insert) card.

This will be the first time fans will have a chance to get their hands on the much anticipated UFC Round 1 cards. The cards will feature both Georges St. Pierre and B.J. Penn pictured in their first matchups in the Octagon.

The cards will be of GSP vs. Karo Parysian at UFC 46 and The Prodigy’s will be of him facing Joey Gilbert at UFC 31. Topps representatives will also be on hand to gather feedback from fans at the event.
