UFC officials have announced a replacement opponent for Jim Miller at UFC 172 on next Saturday night. Miller’s original opponent Bobby Green was forced to withdraw from the bout, but Yancy Medeiros has agreed to step in on one week’s notice to take on Miller. Medeiros was originally scheduled to face Joe Ellenberger which was also expected to take place at UFC 172.

UFC 172 is set to take place at the Baltimore Arena in Baltimore, Maryland, on Saturday, April 26. The event will be headlined by the UFC light heavyweight title fight between champion Jon Jones and challenger Glover Teixeira. The co-main event will feature  a light heavyweight bout between Phil Davis and Anthony Johnson.

Miller (23-4, 1NC) is coming off a submission win over Fabricio Cameos in his last bout at UFC 168. Miller is (2-0, 1NC) in his last three bouts and looks to keep his momentum going against a very tough fight in Bobby Green.

Medeiros (9-1, 1NC) is coming off a no contest against Yves Edwards in his last outing in November 2013. Medeiros was originally credited with a first round KO win, but the bout was changed after he tested positive for marijuana. His lone loss came in his UFC debut against Rustam Khabilov.
