UFC heavyweight contender Stipe Miocic thought he was finally going to get a shot at the UFC heavyweight title at UFC 196 on short notice against Fabricio Werdum. However, Werdum pulled out of the bout once he learned that Cain Velasquez would not be able to fight at UFC 196 citing multiple injuries. Miocic took to his Twitter account to voice his sentiments on the situation:
To be honest I wouldn’t want to fight me either you guys.

Interestingly enough, Werdum stated that he would have continued with the Velasquez fight even though he was injured had Velasquez not pulled out of the bout.
There’s still no word on what will happen with UFC 196. Josh Barnett and Ben Rothwell are scheduled to fight at the UFC on FOX 18 co-main event on Saturday night, and both have offered their services to fight at UFC 196. However, it’s unlikely the UFC will move that entire fight off that card or take a fighter away from that fight this late in the game.
