Diego Brandao vs. Jimy Hettes set for UFC 183

diego_brandao-153UFC officials have announced a featherweight fight for UFC 183. TUF winner Diego Brandao will take on Jimy Hettes on January 31 in Las Vegas. The UFC 183 event will be headlined by the middleweight scrap between former champion Anderson Silva and MMA bad boy Nick Diaz.

Brandao (18-10) is coming off a first round TKO loss against Conor McGregor in July. Brandao took the fight on short notice after agreeing to replace McGregor’s original opponent Cole Miller. Brandao has now lost back-to-back fights after winning three in a row. The TUF 14 winner will look to keep his roster spot secure with a win over Jimy Hettes.

Hettes (11-2) is coming off a third round TKO loss against Dennis Bermudez at UFC 171 in March. Hettes is (1-2) since 2012 and needs a win after bursting on the UFC scene with back-to-back wins in 2011.

Other UFC 183 fights thus far:

  • Thiago Santos vs. Andy Enz
