Gennady Golovkin
The knockout artist known as “GGG” will be putting his WBO and IBO titles on the line in his next fight. Gennady Golovkin will return to HBO for a scheduled 12 round tilt against Marco Antonio Rubio on October 18th. The event will take place at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.

This will mark Golovkin’s twelfth title defense. The undefeated Kazakh boxer sits at 30-0 with 27 knockouts. He notched his 17th straight KO with a third round finish of Daniel Geale back in July.

According to a press release, Golovkin seemed happy about fighting in California.

“I am very excited to fight in California. I enjoy attending fights at the StubHub Center and look forward to a “Mexican style” fight against Marco Antonio Rubio.”

Rubio has a record of 59-6-1 with 51 knockouts. The Mexican born fighter has faced many tough opponents such as Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. , Kelly Pavilik, Frankie Randall and more.

Rubio says he is excited to fight another world champion.

“I always accept the biggest challenges and without a doubt this will be the greatest of my career. I will show Golovkin a real “Mexican syle” fight on October 18.”
