UFC officials have announced what should be an exciting flyweight bout for the upcoming UFC Fight Night 50 card that’s set for September 5 at the Foxwoods Casino Resort in Connecticut.

Justin “Tank” Scoggins and former flyweight title challenger John Moraga have verbally agreed to scrap.

Scoggins (9-1) is coming off a controversial split decision loss against Dustin Ortiz in his last outing. It was the first loss of his career, and he’ll look to get back on track against the former title challenger in Moraga.

Moraga (14-3) is coming off a TKO loss against another former title challenger and TUF winner in John Dodson. Moraga won a split decision against Dustin Ortiz prior to that loss. Ortiz just won a controversial split decision over Scoggins who Moraga will face next.

The UFC Fight Night 50 event will be headlined by the middleweight scrap between Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza and Gegard Mousasi. The co-main event will feature a heavyweight bout between Alistair Overeem and Ben Rothwell.

The event will air on FOX Sports 1 with preliminary action beginning at 9 p.m. ET.
