Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (29-0, 26 KO) defends is WBA middlweight title tonight under the light’s of historic Madison Square Garden live on HBO. Golovkin will meet what many say is his toughest test to date in former WBA champ Daniel Geale (30-2, 16 KO). Golovkin has been a one man wrecking machine with 16 straight knockouts. Gennady Golvkin vs. Daniel Geale for WBA Middleweight Championship – 12 Rounds
Round 1: First 20 seconds we bounce around and Geale swings first. A left hand from Golovkin but doesn’t land. Geale working his range. Golovkin pushes forward. Body shot connects from Geale. Geale follows it up with another. Golovkin jabs. Geale trying to land but Golovkin covers up. Right hand connects from Golovkin. Left hook to the body from GGG. A quick tie up. Geale hits a right hand. Geale trips. Left hand from Golovkin. Geale connects. Solid round, has to go to Golovkin.
Round 2: Geale is cut as the round starts. Big right hand from Golovkin and Geale goes down. Geale fires off his left hand. Geale trying to mount offense but it isn’t bothering Golovkin. Geale against the ropes. Geale hits a left hook. Golovkin sends a straight right down the pipe. Geale is hitting Golovkin with a bunch of shots. Booming shot from Golovkin puts Geale against the ropes. Geale seemed more active but Golovkin’s punches mattered. 20-18 “GGG” after two.
Round 3: A good exchange between both men to start the round. Geale shakes and bakes maybe? Had a little jiggle to him. Geale seems more active but they are saying he’s landing less punches. Big shot from Golovkin but Geale counters. Geale is hopping around trying to evade punches but Golovkin looks stone cold. Geale against the ropes and he takes a couple shots. He gets out but a right hook drops him. Fight’s over, Geale can’t continue.
