A rejuvenated Robbie Lawler showed the world just how “Ruthless” he could be, delivering a devastating head kick that turned off the lights of Bobby Voelker at 24 seconds of the second round.
After an early exchange, Robbie Lawler seized control of the opening round, peppering Bobby Voelker with a mixed attack of strikes from all angles. Lawler connected with a crunching right hand that started a series of exchanges that left Voelker bloody and battered. A knee inside the clinch got the blood flowing, but Lawler wasn’t done, as he found his rhythm as the round continued.
Voelker pressed to start the second, but within seconds Lawler found a home for his left shin as it connected with the jaw of Voelker, sending him reeling to the mat. A final right hand finished the job, as Lawler put an exclamation point on an explosive performance.
The win marks the second consecutive win for Robbie Lawler (21-9 MMA, 6-3 UFC) since rejoining the UFC.
