The UFC on FOX 8 card keeps getting deeper and deeper as UFC officials announce more fights.
We reported earlier today that the main event and co-main event was announced, and now we have one more fight that’s ready to go. TUF 3 Finalist Ed Herman will return to the octagon to take on UFC newcomer Trevor Smith in a middleweight matchup.
Herman (20-9, 1NC) comes into this fight off his first round submission loss to Jacare Souza at the final Strikeforce show in January. Herman took the bout on short notice and was on a (3-0, 1NC) streak in his last four bouts with finishes in all three wins.
Smith (10-3) is Strikeforce veteran making his UFC debut while coming off a loss to Tim Kennedy at the same Strikeforce event that took place in January. Smith has won nine of his 10 wins via submission.
The UFC on FOX 8 event will be headlined by the UFC flyweight championship bout between champion Demetrious Johnson and challenger John Moraga.
