nate marquardtA new bout has been formed for the UFC 158 card as Nate Marquardt (32-11-2) steps in to meet Jake Ellenberger (28-6) in a welterweight matchup. The event is set to take place at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada, on March 16.

UFC 158 will feature a headline bout between current UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre and title challenger Nick Diaz. The main card will air LIVE on PPV with the prelims set to air on FX and Facebook.

Nate Marquardt last fought at the “Strikeforce: Marquardt vs. Saffiedine” event in January, where he dropped a unanimous decision loss against Tarec Saffiedine. Prior to that he had been on a two fight winning steak, defeating notable fighters Dan Miller and Tyron Woodley. Marquardt will no doubt look to score a big win over Ellenberger in his return to the UFC.

Meanwhile, Jake Ellenberger was last in action at UFC on FX 5 in October 2012, where he scored a unanimous decision victory over Jay Hieron. Prior to that he dropped a second round TKO loss against Martin Kampmann at The Ultimate Fighter 15 Finale, which snapped a six fight winning streak the 27-year-old had been on. Ellenberger now has the chance to begin a new winning steak by defeating Marquardt on March 16.
