According to multiple sources, former Strikeforce middleweight champion Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza will make his UFC debut against Constantinos Philippou at the UFC on FX 8 event in Brazil on May 18th. The event will take place at the Arena Jaraguá in Santa Catarina, Brazil.
Souza (17-3-1) has won three consecutive fights including his last outing against UFC veteran Ed Herman at the final Strikeforce event which took place in January. Souza is (7-1) dating back to 2008 with the lone loss being a close decision loss to Luke Rockhold which cost Souza his Strikeforce middleweight title.
Philippou (12-2, 1NC) has rattled off five consecutive wins in the UFC after losing his debut in the promotion. He took out Tim Boetsch via third round TKO in his last outing at UFC 155 in December.
