The UFC will officially be returning to the Mile High City where it all began for its milestone event with UFC 150. The event will take place on August 11th, at the Pepsi Center in Denver,Colorado.

This is the same venue used for UFC 135 last year when Jon Jones defended his UFC Light Heavyweight Title against Rampage Jackson.  This city was the location for the first UFC event that started it all back in 1993.

The promotion has announced two fights for the event. Luiz Cane will be making his middleweight debut against former number one contender Yushin Okami. Also, Thiago Tavares will tangle with Dennis Hallman in a lightweight matchup.

Cane (12-4) is coming off a TKO loss in his last outing at UFC 134 against Stanislav Nedkov. The iron chin of Cane has shown wear and tear as of late as he has lost three out of his last four bouts via TKO as a light heavyweight. He’s looking for new life in the middleweight division.

Okami (26-7) is coming off a TKO loss to Tim Boetsch at UFC 144 earlier this year. It was a fight that Okami was dominating until the third round when the powerful Boetsch was able to connect with a hay-maker in which Okami was never able to recover. Okami has now lost back to back fights, including the TKO loss in his title bout against Anderson Silva at UFC 134.

Tavares (17-4-1) is coming off a unanimous decision win over Sam Stout in his last outing at UFC 142. Tavares has quietly gone (4-1-1) in his last six bouts.

Hallman (51-14-2, 1NC) is coming off a submission win over John Makdessi in his last outing at UFC 140. The MMA veteran has gone (3-2) since rejoining the UFC roster at the end of 2009. Hallman is the only man that holds two submission wins over former UFC Welterweight Champion Matt Hughes.
