Light heavyweight prospects “Guto” Inocente and Lionel Lanham set for Strikeforce Challengers 17

A battle between light heavyweight prospects Carlos “Guto” Inocente Filho and Lionel Lanham has been officially added to Strikeforce Challengers 17. The card takes place July 22 from the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.

Brazilian MMA scribes have been singing the praises of “Guto” for quite some time. He will bring an undefeated 5-0 record into the Strikeforce cage. He began his combat sports career as a kickboxer. Since making the transition to MMA, he has finished all of his opponents. In his last fight, he needed only 40 seconds to knockout Gustavo Moia and claim the Shooto South American 220-pound title.

Lanham, a protege of UFC veteran Keith Jardine, is currently 3-0. In his last fight, he stopped Eric McElroy is only 14 seconds at Shark Fights 15.

A third bout between Roger Bowling and Bobby Voelker is set to headline the upcoming Challengers Series event. Bowling scored a technical decision victory over Voelker in their first meeting after catching a poke to the eye. In the rematch, Voelker finished Bowling via TKO in the second round.
