LAS VEGAS — As we first reported last month, Las Vegas-based fight promotion MMA Xplosion will hold its next event on Jan. 29 at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and feature a main event bout between undefeated up-and-comer Damien Knight (3-0) and BJJ specialist and UFC vet Vinny Magalhaes (5-5, 1 NC).
MMA Xplosion released the full fight card for the event on Friday. The show will feature International Team Challenges with fighters representing Team USA vs. Team Brazil and Team Kazakhstan vs. Team Mexico, plus an additional special feature women’s bout.
Competing on the USA vs. Brazil portion of the card, Chidi Njokuani (4-1) is the brother of WEC lightweight veteran Anthony Njokuani. He will take on Team Wand member Sydney Silva (8-3), a one-time WEC vet, in a welterweight bout.

- 170 lbs: USA’s Jason Trevino (3-3) vs. Brazil’s Tiki Squeti (10-5)
- 170 lbs: USA’s Chidi Njokuani (4-1) vs. Brazil’s Sydney Silva (8-3)
- 185 lbs: USA’s Krasimir Samardzhiev (1-0) vs. Brazil’s Jamen Olney (0-1)
Mexico vs. Kazakhstan
- 155 lbs: Mexico’s Josh Montalvo (2-0) vs. Kazakhstan’s Ardak Nazarov (3-1)
- 155 lbs: Mexico’s Art Ramirez (3-3) vs. Kazakhstan’s Beibit Nazarov (3-0)
- 135 lbs: Mexico’s Omar Avelar (4-0) vs. Kazakhstan’s Begnar Amanbayev (4-0)
- 125 lbs: Mexico’s Freddy Artega (0-1) vs. Kazakhstan’s Kazybek Ashimov (3-1)
Special attraction women’s bout
- 120 lbs: Karina Taylor, Las Vegas (0-3) vs. Tammie Schneider, Kansas City (3-10)
A pre-fight press conference for the event will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 26, at Body English inside the Hard Rock. Also, weigh-ins for the event will take place Friday, Jan. 28, at Body English starting at 5 p.m. Media is encouraged to attend.
