DREAM veteran Cole Escovedo (16-6) is set to fight Steven Siler (18-8) in a featherweight bout on the Showdown Fights: Newblood fight card on Jan. 28 in Orem, Utah.

Escovedo confirmed the news on his facebook page.

Although he normally campaigns at bantamweight, Escovedo is coming off of a loss to featherweight contender Michihiro Omigawa at DREAM 16. In his other DREAM appearance, Escovedo knocked out Yoshihiro Maeda with a stunning head kick. He’s also 1-1 in two fights at 135 with Michael McDonald, who won his WEC debut and will likely move on to the UFC following the merger of the two organizations.

As for Siler, he’s won 13 of his last 14 fights, including wins over Bellator fighter Nick Mamalis and Xtreme Couture fighter Dennis Davis. His only setback was a knockout loss to Chad Mendes, now a featherweight contender with the UFC.
