Exactly one week until show time, Strikeforce has lost another main card fighter from “Henderson vs. Babalu” scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 4, at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Mo.

Heavyweight Valentijn Overeem (28-25), who was scheduled to make his Strikeforce debut against Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva, has had to pull out of the fight due to an undisclosed injury, according to MMAWeekly.com sources.

Overeem, the brother of Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem, has knocked out his last two opponents in a combined 47-seconds.

Former football star Herschel Walker was also supposed to fight on the card but was forced out last week with his own injury. Maybe Walker’s original opponent, Scott Carson, could fill in for Overeem to face Antonio Silva.

Although Strikeforce has a hefty heavyweight roster, few fighters will likely be clamoring to face someone of Silva’s stature on a week’s notice. Silva is coming off a unanimous decision over Andrei Arlovski back in May.

[Update: Sherdog is reporting Overeem suffered an elbow injury.]
