After dropping his return to the UFC, it appears as if Karo Parisyan will receive his release from the promotion.
At the post-fight press conference for UFC 123, UFC President Dana White said that Parisyan would “have to figure out the next chapter of his life.” On Saturday, Dennis Hallman knocked out Parisyan in the first round.
His first stint in the Octagon ended after he pulled out of several fights at the last minute. He also had a win over Dong Hyun Kim overturned when he tested positive for banned painkillers.
Parisyan had fought once outside the UFC after being previously released. He defeated Ben Mortimer at Impact FC 1 in Australia. During his first UFC run, Parisyan defeated several quality fighters including Nick Diaz, Chris Lytle and Matt Serra.
The promotion has not officially announced Parisyan’s release. However, due the circumstances and the company’s practices it appears imminent.
