UFC color commentator Joe Rogan breaks down Fedor Emelianenko’s recent loss to former UFC heavyweight and 2009 Abu Dhabi champion Fabricio Werdum at last weekend’s “Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Werdum” event in San Jose, Calif.

Rogan explains how Werdum set Fedor up for the submission and the danger of playing in the guard of a top level BJJ player so early in the fight.

It is common knowledge UFC President Dana White tried very hard to sign Fedor to the UFC. Rogan believes after Fedor’s loss White had to feel extremely satisfied he did not spend millions of dollars signing the fighter to a contract.

Rogan is currently more impressed with Alistair Overeem than Fedor. He believes for Fedor to regain his status he needs to defeat Overeem and Werdum, and ultimately sign with the UFC.

Rogan also sings the praises of Cung Le’s striking and believes Matt Brown vs. Chris Lytle could win “Fight of the Night” at Saturday’s “UFC 116: Lesnar vs. Carwin”.
