Minowa orders super size and gets Imani Lee

On Thursday, news broke that Ikuhisa Minowa will face Imani Lee at Dream 14. The card will take place on May 29 at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.

Minowa’s exploits with extra-large opponents are well documented. Even before the Super-Hulk tournament, he made his living by playing David to various Goliaths. To win the tournament he defeated Bob Sapp, Hong Man Choi and Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou. Even after winning the belt, he has continued to quest. At Dream 13, he scored a submission victory over Jimmy Ambriz.

Lee may be only 1-2 in MMA, but he has various other combat sports experience. The 300 pounder also sports a 1-3 record in K-1. He has faced notable kickboxers Michael McDonald and Alexey Ignashov, and he even scored a victory over Super-Hulk participant Jan Nortje. From 1996 to 2003, Lee competed as a professional boxer. He put together a 8-3 record with fives wins coming by way of knockout.

Dream 14 will be broadcast live in North America on HDNet. For those not interested in incredible size differences there are also some quality bouts. Strikeforce welterweight champion Nick Diaz will face Hayato Sakurai in a non-title fight. Kazushi Sakuraba will also resume his rivalry with the Gracie family when he faces Ralek Gracie.
